Description: Without doubt, the Greco di Tufo, from which the wine of the same name is made, is the oldest variety of the Avellino area. A confirmation of the millennial origin of the Greco di Tufo wine was provided by the discovery of a fresco at Pompeii, traced in the 1st century BC. A brief poetical inscription was added to the fresco, apparently by a frustrated lover: "You are truly cold, Bytis, made of ice, if last night not even Greco wine could warm you up." The Greco variety was originally cultivated on the slopes of Vesuvius, where it was given the name Lacryma Christi. It was later planted in the province of Avellino, where it was given the denomination Greco di Tufo. At the moment, this small house is Campania's number one producer of Greco di Tufo. This wine has an attractive light golden color with very fragrant, floral aromas of pear and honey. This wine also shows ripe flavors of apricot and peach with an almost chi tea like spiciness. This minerally palate amuser is the perfect wine to start off a dinner party and serve with hors d'ouvers.
